TREES
The Parque de Malaga is perhaps noted above all for its collection of mature trees. There are a number of botanically fascinating specimens featured throughout the area. To find trees of such stature and rarity in a city centre location is a novelty and, despite the redevelopment of the area, many date back to the earliest days of the park at the beginning of the 20th century.

On the Plant List and Map in this blog you can find the names of the bigger specimens of note, but there are many other smaller plantings and it’s worth repeating them as a complete a list as possible here, drawn from my own survey and the latest publications available about the Parque. As this site and Facebook page develops I intend to add photos of as many as possible (all photos taken by me – but free to use), and add as much botanical and historical information.
