The Coral Tree is a medium to large sized tree, to 12m. Deciduous. It produces spectacular orange-scarlet flowers before the trifoliate shaped leaves appear. The flowers are followed by seed in cylindrical pods. The bark is grey in colour, often with spines. The photos immediately above and below are from the Parque, but there is another specimen to be found in the city’s University of Malaga (UMA) garden.
